I want my money back for this class. Truly, truly disappointed.

Book Project Complete

Well, I followed the templates to the letter, and I do know what i'm doing, but their templates for the covers were really off. They were off by .9 in their bleeds, and wouldn't accept until I removed all bleeds, which of course messed up my cover. Also, their concept of a spine is really off. At any rate, the rest turned out really well, so that's good.

3 weeks left.

Book Project

While I am not pleased with this project, I am going to do it right. I am even using it to hopefully get me a job, which is probably the only reason i'm truly caring about it at all. This being my last semester, I shouldn't deign to give a crap about this class or this project, considering that for a class professing to teach InDesign, we haven't opened it once or learned a damn thing in class. Regardless, i'm just going to suck it up and do the project.

Book Project.

I despise this book project. I honestly wouldn't like it even if we were only doing PDF's, but adding a cost to it this late in the semester is a kick in the teeth. Please don't ever make students do this again - especially when we've NEVER opened InDesign or Illustrator in this class, or learned anything about them.

Posting

In the spirit of class, and my grades and what not, I'm going to continue posting here. My assignments are doing okay, but i'm nervous to see my grade.

We'll see.

Back to the grind.

Spring break was great, but it flung me out of my routine. I totally spaced this week's assignment, and the blog too. (i'm updating right before class.) Oh well, i'm not sure if you're reading them at all anyway. Maybe you will at the end of the semester, in which case this won't feel like such a wasted effort. Otherwise, huzzah hooray, it's almost wednesday!

Homework done - i'm even going to print them out all fancy like. :D

Yay!

On top of things this week - even updating a few hours prior to class! Though i'm a terrible procrastinator, I actually took some time and thought about my assignment this week. Still mundane, but it's getting a bit better. I at least like choosing my own content. I'm super stoked to really put a couple of these in illustrator and see what I can do. :D

Forgotten

I forgot to update my blog this week, as usual, until the last minute before class. I am terrible at keeping journals - always have been.

Interesting

Well, i'm trying to update before class this week - even if it's only an hour or so before hand. I've always been very bad at keeping records - journals, diaries... doesn't matter, I've never been good at it. At any rate, the assignment this week (while the instructions were really hard to understand, as usual), was at least a little amusing. I can see that we're starting to move into real content, and I am daring to hope i'll learn something in this class I didn't already know about illustrator.

Still lost.

Missed a week of class - tried the assignment. None of the assignment sheets make any sense at all - i've shown them to my friends, who agree completely. Still, i'm trying to do my best to at least attempt things. Hopefully it will work out for the best.

Still can't draw at all.

Week 3

Well, I decided to give the drawing thing another shot before switching over to illustrator... I should have gone with Illustrator. I'm really just terrible at drawing, no doubt about it. I am much better in illustrator, though I don't know if i'm going to learn any more than I already know about the program.
